FAC0420-22
3-Channel Networked 4–20 mA Current Sensor
The 3-Channel Networked 4–20 mA Current Sensor from Fidar Electronics reads the standard 4–20 mA output of any industrial transmitter and maps it back to engineering units. It runs standalone on its own IP address with a built-in web page.
Standard 4–20 mA input
Three independent input channels in one unit
Works with any industrial 4–20 mA transmitter
Broken-wire detection below 4 mA
Own IP address and built-in web page
Powered by PoE or a 48 V adapter
DHCP or a static IP address
SNMP monitoring in PRTG and SolarWinds
The 4–20 mA loop is the common language of industrial transmitters: pressure, level, flow, temperature, humidity, pH and dozens of other quantities all travel on it. This sensor reads any 4–20 mA transmitter into the Fidar monitoring chain, with the mA-to-engineering-unit mapping configured in software. The standard's real advantage is that true zero sits at 4 mA: anything below it means a broken wire or a dead transmitter, so the fault announces itself instead of failing silently.

Where it is used
Reading pressure, level, flow and temperature transmitters
Tank and pipeline monitoring in oil, gas and petrochemicals
Bringing environmental analysers into a monitoring system
Pumping stations and water/wastewater treatment plants
Retrofitting legacy instruments into a modern monitoring stack
Air-quality and emission-measurement systems
Installation
Run the loop in shielded twisted pair and earth the shield at one end only, so you do not create a ground loop.
