Fidar Electronics designed and commissioned a FIDAQUIRE environmental monitoring system for the server room at National Water & Wastewater Engineering Company.
The installation watches temperature, humidity, power, water leak and physical access around the clock, and sends SMS and email alarms the moment a threshold is crossed.
Two FIDAQUIRE systems run in parallel as a live backup. The package includes access control, rack-door management, incoming-power monitoring, water-leak detection on every rack and an auto-dialler for alarms.
Scope of work
- Site survey of the room and identification of thermal and electrical risk points
- Installation of ambient and point temperature/humidity sensors, water-leak detectors, door contacts and dry-contact inputs — 70 sensing points in total
- Commissioning of the FIDAQUIRE logger, alarm routing and operator training
Outcome
IT staff now have a live picture of the room and a recorded history they can use in incident reviews. Unplanned downtime caused by heat, humidity or power events is substantially reduced.
