Wireless Dry Contact Detector
The Wireless Dry Contact Detector from Fidar Electronics reads the open or closed state of volt-free equipment contacts and turns every change into an alertable event. It links over a LoRa radio with no cabling at all.
Reads the state of a volt-free contact
Works with any dry-contact output
Timestamps every change of state
LoRa radio link up to 1 km line of sight
AES-128 encrypted payloads
Pairs with the FWL1600-01 LoRa card
No cabling; pairing takes seconds
Low-battery warning per node
The dry contact is the simplest and most widely used industrial signal there is: any device with a volt-free status contact — a door microswitch, a limit switch, a UPS alarm output, a fire panel, an intruder alarm, a contactor auxiliary — connects to the monitoring system through this detector. It reads whether the contact is open or closed and timestamps every change of state, and it supplies the sensing voltage itself, so no separate supply is needed.
Key features
Reads the state of a volt-free contact
Works with any dry-contact output
Timestamps every change of state
LoRa radio link up to 1 km line of sight
AES-128 encrypted payloads
Pairs with the FWL1600-01 LoRa card
No cabling; pairing takes seconds
Low-battery warning per node
Connectivity
LoRa link up to 1 km with AES-128 encryption
Quick pairing with the FWL1600-01 receiver card
Sensor-fault and low-battery warnings before the cell dies
Where it is used
Door status on racks, cabinets and equipment rooms
Reading alarm outputs from UPS, generators and boards
Bringing fire and intruder panels into monitoring
Contactor, relay and thermal-trip status in a panel
Limit switches and level switches on a production line
Proving run/stop state from an auxiliary contact
Installation
Keep the input wiring away from power cable; on long runs, shielded cable stops induced noise from producing phantom state changes.
