By setting a threshold on any sensor attached to the logger — passing a temperature limit energises the auxiliary-fan relay, for example.

What state do outputs hold if the link drops?

Each output's fail-safe state is configured at commissioning. For critical loads, confirm that setting explicitly.

FDR0508-01 8-Channel Relay Output Card

The FDR0508-01 is the monitoring system's action end: eight relays driven either remotely or automatically from a threshold set on any sensor.
