Notes on this configuration

  • Temperature and Humidity share one probe — the sensors are not counted twice.
  • This unit also takes 5 I/O cards at 8 channels each; if you would rather wire straight into the chassis, an engineer can quote the card-based build.
  • FWL1600-01 uplinks over CAN, which is what the FCD6455-01 chassis speaks.
  • 1 of the 4 control outputs come off the unit's own relays.
  • This is a combination Fidar already installs as a packaged system.

Frequently asked questions

Why wireless in a greenhouse?
Because the measurement points are spread down the house, and cabling in a humid environment is both expensive to install and expensive to maintain. The wireless sensors are battery powered and pair with the gateway.
What is the wireless range?
LoRa reaches a long way in the open, but real range depends on structure, cladding and distance. Each FWL1600-01 gateway covers up to sixteen nodes; larger sites take a second gateway.
Do temperature and humidity need separate sensors?
No. One temperature and humidity sensor reads both on a single probe, so the sensor count equals the point count rather than double it.

Need a different point count?
