Notes on this configuration
- Temperature and Humidity share one probe — the sensors are not counted twice.
- This unit also takes 5 I/O cards at 8 channels each; if you would rather wire straight into the chassis, an engineer can quote the card-based build.
- 1 of the 4 control outputs come off the unit's own relays.
- This is a combination Fidar already installs as a packaged system.
Frequently asked questions
- Why eight points in one house?
- House temperature is not uniform: the two ends, the area near the fans and the area near the heaters all differ. Several points down the house show the real spread; a single point hides it behind an average.
- How quickly does an alert arrive?
- The sampling interval is configurable and the controller samples as often as every seven seconds. How fast the SMS itself arrives depends on the mobile network.
- What happens if the house loses power?
- The controller is installed on a UPS so that the outage itself is texted as a critical event — usually the single most important alert on a poultry site.
