Pool and jacuzzi monitoring
Continuously measures pool and jacuzzi water temperature, hall air temperature, humidity and circulation pump operation, and reports a deviation before a swimmer complains.

Why this monitoring is needed
A pool is a large tank of warm water and its biggest cost is heating energy. Held one degree warmer than necessary, it burns a significant amount of fuel across a year; held cooler, the first person to report it is a customer.
The second issue is hall humidity. High humidity is unpleasant for swimmers and destroys the building fabric over time — condensation on the roof and corrosion of steelwork start here. Air-handler operation should be judged against actual humidity, not a timer.
What gets measured
Pool and jacuzzi water temperature
A PT100 in a stainless pocket in the water circuit gives the real figure — the hall thermostat does not know it.
Hall air temperature and humidity
The water-to-air temperature gap drives the evaporation rate; the two have to be read together.
Circulation pump operation
Motor current proves the pump is turning; stopped circulation means both uneven heating and disrupted disinfection.
Sand filter pressure
Pressure transmitters before and after the filter identify the backwash moment from differential pressure rather than the calendar.
Boiler and plant room temperature
Flow and return temperatures on the heating circuit reveal exchanger efficiency and boiler behaviour.

- 1
Water temperature outside its band: alarm, with pool and jacuzzi separated since their setpoints differ.
- 2
Hall humidity above 65 %: air handler stepped up by relay, with the deviation duration logged.
- 3
Circulation pump current lost during operating hours: immediate alarm — disinfection stops with it.
- 4
Filter differential pressure above threshold: backwash due.
- 5
Scheduled automatic night setback of the target temperature outside opening hours.
What the operator gets
Heating fuel drops once temperature is actually held at setpoint rather than above it.
A pump failure and the disinfection stop that follows are announced as they happen.
The temperature and humidity history is the facility's health-inspection record.
Frequently asked questions
Should the sensor sit in the water itself?
The PT100 goes into a stainless thermowell in the flow or return pipe, not loose in the water. That protects it from chlorine and chemicals and lets it be replaced without draining the circuit.
Are chlorine and pH monitored as well?
Chlorine and pH probes come from a specialist supplier with a standard 4–20 mA or 0–10 V output; Fidar's system reads it, logs it, alarms on it and files it in the same history as temperature and pressure.
