Modbus is an industrial protocol developed in 1979 to communicate between automation devices. The protocol is an open protocol, meaning that manufacturers can use it without having to pay royalties on their equipment. Also, this protocol has become a standard communication protocol in the industry and is currently the most common means of connecting industrial electronic devices. FTM0801-01 and FTM0801-02 series sensors with the possibility of communicating through the Modbus protocol have the ability to securely send information over long distances and make the process of wiring the sensors easy (due to the fact that they are buses).
